Driving Around Europe - Day 4 & 5 Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland

Assalamualaikum and hello,

Day 4, another beautiful sunny day in Lauterbrunnen. We ventured the other side of the mountain, FIRST the peak name. We had some drinks and enjoy the scenery from the cafe on the peak, the only cafe at FIRST.

Another good day without Maxine bitching around me. I try not to hate her, but just can't throw that feeling. She always makes me look stupid with my clothes, always asking me if I'm not warm with my legging. Hello, Miss hot pants, we are on the mountain, the wind is cold.

I could say a long walk is my hobby or my favourite, but a quiet long walk. As usual, Patrice was the one went bla bla bla pot pet pot pet. Instead of taking the cable car going down to another village, we had 1.5 hour walk to the nearest cable car to get to Wengen village.

You could hear the sound of bells from cable car that take you up to the mountain, and it came from the cow's collar bell. Each of them has the collar bell. So you know where to find them once you heard that sound. When we walk down to the village, I manage to see a few cows with the bells.

The scenery are absolutely amazing, calm and peaceful.
You know the outdoor brand called 'THE NORTH FACE'? This is where the brand gets the name, from the WORLD FAMOUS CLIFF, 'THE NORTH FACE', one of the dangerous cliff to climb in the world.

Day 5, another day with pleasant weather. Ross and Maxine once again decided not to join us, doesn't make any different, not feeling missing them tho. Another long walk, what a nice thing to do at a nice place with nice mountain. Schyienege Palatte, was one of the nice easy walk you could do around here. The view from the train station at Schyienege Palatte is amazing.
What is interesting at Shyienege Palatte are the beautiful wild flowers grows along the walking path.

A mini herbs and flower garden with each of the species were place a small card written the name and the scientific name of the plant were built by the local council, some educational section for tourist.

We walk about 2 hours and reached to steep cliff where you can have a nice view of Interlarken.

In early 19 centuries, the kids from the farmer family around here used to sell milk at the train station to earn some money for their family. They will wait for the train to stop and sell milk from the train window.

We got another 4 days in Lauterbrunnen, means that more walks to do around the mountain.

Driving Around Europe - Day 2 & 3 Lautebrunnan, Switzerland

Assalamualaikum &Hello,
Ross and Maxine arrived in Lauterbrunnen from Milano.
We purchased 5 day pass for train and cable car. Weather was not good on the first day we purchased the pass. The view was not clear due to the thick cloud and I did not manage to get nice scenery photos. Weather was cold too up on the mountain, except for Maxine, with her hot pants. Whatever with that bitch.

We went for a train and cable car ride again the next day, weather was sunny and warm. The pass that we purchased enable us to discovered many parts of the mountain by train and cable car, except 'Top of Europe', which is you have to purchase different ticket.
Here are some of the photos at Wengen and Kleine Sheideg. I'm kinda bore with Maxine, she did not talk to me, or at least try to be friendly as I did. They said Glasgow people are friendly, but not Maxine!
I decided to do my own thing and go separate way with Kier.

That's all for now, got more to come in next entry

Driving Around Europe - Camping Jungfrau Switzerland

Assalamualaikum and Hello,
Here we go, camping at Jungfrau campsite, located at the end of the main road of Lauterbrunnen.
This time we don't need to pitch our tent. I like to hear that. Everytime we get to a campsite, I'm piss off with pitching a tent when you are so tired after traveling the whole day in a car.
We hire a tent that already been pitched, with 3 little separate room, came with electricity. Ross and Maxine will join us next 2 days, never met them, just heard about them from Kier.

The weather was so hot in the summer, couldn't sleep in the tent during the day, roasted. So, we going out for a walk.

In most of my entry, a lot of buildings and houses photos and less of photos with typical Asian pose (showing a peace sign). The same things going on here again.
The villages house. Nice, sweet and simple.
The picture above, this house is used to keep the firewood for winter. I love that stairs. Nothing special about it, just cute for my eyes to see it.
A wood house with a stone base, and a contra red colour wooden chair.

Near our campsite is a cow farm and small local cheese processing home. At border of German and Switzerland, at the highland, and in Switzerland as well, the cows and sheep has a bell on their neck. The purpose is not to make them adorable and attract the tourist, to hear where they are when the farmer want to get them.

But, the bell was quite huge for them, it looks heavy.

Suddenly we heard like a sound of thunder, or a sound of a falling rocks. So we look around in case we need to run for safety. But what we saw was a few man jumping from the high cliff, their parachute made a loud sound when it is open.
BASE JUMPING, this is what those man were doing. Jumping from the high cliff. I've been told that this sport is a highly dangerous sport that can easily injure and kill participants. Base jumping is not recommend to anybody. Think long before you involved in this sport. The responsible and safety is all on you alone.

I tried 12,000ft tandem sky diving before in New Zealand, and it is not dangerous I could say, because I'm safely landing on the ground.

Driving Around Europe - Manerba, Italy to Lauterbrunnan, Switzerland

Assalamualaikum and hello!
Hitting the road again! This time we heading to Lauterbrunnen, one of Switzeland touristic place especially in winter. Thousands of tourist come every winter for the ski fun.
6 hours on the road. John decided to drive at the highlands which is taking longer time. At least what he was doing worth it, the scenery along the way at the highlands are awesome.

The scenery reminds me the scenery from Te Anau to Milford Sound. The big snow cap mountain, and some snow at the lower part. It was summer but some snow was still there. We stop at Grimsel Dam.

The famous furry animals that reside at the highlands of Switzerland is marmot. They live in a hole and usually can be found at the highland with soft ground. Marmot are very wild animals. They will not come out if human are around or close to them.

We saw none of marmot came out from their hole at Murmeltier Park in Grimsel. Thought that I would never see them in real.

In winter, the chances of traveler on this road stranded in thick snow are high. There are an accommodation for people who travel during winter time, especially truck driver.
The sun was shining so bright, but up high here on the mountain it is not as warm as it looks.
Just can't take away my eyes from the view around Grimsel.

Driving Around Europe - Sirmione, Manerba del Garda

Assalamualaikum,
My entry still about traveling in Italy. Not far from our campsite,30 minutes drive and South of Lake Garda, 'The Scaliger Castle located in the town called Sirmione.
Sirmione is a town located in the province of Brescia in the region of Lombardy.
The Scaliger Castle is a beautiful historic centre situated on top of a small peninsula that just out into the portion of Lake Garda. The castle was built in 13th century.
The Scaliger Castle is consider one of the finest examples of a medieval fortification.
Once, Sirmione was a vacation resort for the elite and the town had grown to become one of the most important Roman cities in northeast Italy.
From the top of the tower, beautiful view of Lake Garda can be enjoyed.
The prison has been located below the main keep (picture below).
The rest of the pictures below are the view of Sirmione town from the Castle.

Done with the castle sight seeing, we walk down to the town.

I dont like a rolling stone.
We saw a shop house covered with huge bougainvilla plant and it attracts tourist and photographer.
Finally, don't leave Italy without eating the ice cream.
